/Bamfield has quickly become one of my favourite places in the world, second only to Haida Gwaii (and I can hardly even call it a second). They are similar in a lot of ways - isolated, small towns with friendly folk and unlimited wilderness to explore. I haven't been back to Haida Gwaii in almost 3 years now and my heart physically aches for it. Last year I was introduced to Bamfield though, and the hole has been (at least partially) filled. I started hanging out at the Seabeam Lodge through my best friend who manages it during the summers. I was introduced to countless people, spending weekend after weekend camping on endless beaches and fishing out on the boat all day. The only question I'm ever left with after a trip to Bamfield is "When can we come back?!?"
